The new range of Holman metal sprinkler spikes are an excellent choice when looking for a strong, reliable metal irrigation system. This spike is best suited for use in garden beds or landscaped areas. The elbow shape allows the spike to be installed at the end of a length of poly pipe and pushed directly into the soil. Featuring a barbed end, this spike design is able to be set up in minutes, by simply pushing on the poly pipe & clamping with a ratchet clamp. The spikes are supplied "without" spray heads so you are able to attach the style that best suits your watering requirements. Watering options: The 1/2" outlet offers a variety of different sprinklers to be connected. Commonly, an impact sprinkler is attached & the barbed end joined into the end of the poly pipe. Available in both 13mm barb & 19mm barb sizes, the Elbow Spike is ideal for branching off from a mainline or terminating an inline section of poly pipe as it runs through a garden bed. Use to branch off to water trees & shrubs for large landscaped areas. Pop up sprinklers are also a good option! It's very common for a sprinkler to have a female 1/2" thread and they can screw directly onto the spike. These also offer a neat solution with the nozzle protected inside the sprinkler cannister. Pop ups have a range of fixed or adjustable nozzles so any spray pattern can be found. Using a pop up on a spike, gives you the flexibility of locating this sprinkler where it's needed & then being able to easily move & re-locate the sprinkler as the plants grow. A lot easier than moving a rigid sub-surface plumbed system. The last option is attaching a poly riser with a spray head. This provides a "tall" sprinkler option and suits most garden bed applications. The height allows the spray to reach "over" the plants to fully water the surrounding area or garden bed.
